Naked Basics Palette Review

Hi Beauties,

I recently received urban decay's newest naked basics palette as a birthday present this past year and decided its time to do a review. It is described as an all matte palette of neutral eyeshadows, however venus is "semi matte" which has a bit of a sheen to use as a highlight.

Ive had the palette for about 3 weeks now and i use it almost everyday. Its a good palette to travel with and has good neutral colours for the perfect eye look.  All the shadows are very buttery and very blendable. Crave is the only shadow with a slightly different texture than the other very buttery shadows. I cant complain about the palette, except for the fact that it has a "different smell"which i can smell when looking in the mirror of the palette. Maybe its just my palette, who knows!

Its a small palette so its easy for travel and is a pretty good bargain as its only $32 dollars canadian at sephora. I would definitely recommend for those girls who love neutrals.

Left to Right: Venus - Foxy  - Walk of Shame - Naked 2 - Faint - Crave

Venus - is an off white with a sheen to it great to use as highlighting shade
Foxy - is a yellow based matte shade - perfect for eyelid
Walk of Shame - pinky light nude matte - perfect for eyelid
Naked 2 - is a taupe medium nude shade, it is more grey than the shade naked (in the original naked palette) and less dark than tease (in the naked 2 palette) GREAT for shading
Faint - is warm dark brown - perfect for the outer corner
Crave - is a deep dark brown which almost looks black

#NOBUYJANUARY

Beauties...

It just so happens that the month I started my blog is the same month that I came up with #nobuyjanuary. Like i said in my last post, i am beauty/makeup obsessed. My makeup collection has grown in size very quickly, to the point that my friends and sister told me to stop buying stuff in October next year, so they will know that i haven't bought every makeup product in sephora.

In addition to being obsessed with makeup, I'm like any other girl and have a closet full of clothes, some that i haven't even worn yet and some that i forgot about. I decided to start #nobuyjanuary as a way to give myself a break from the mall, but more importantly give my bank account a break. After all, it is right after christmas and all of our bank accounts have probably been a little drained.

This began as a little thing for myself to see if i could do it, but everyone who knows me knows how hard this task is for me... so i got put to the challenge... my boyfriend bet me $50 dollars, a co-worker bet me lunch... and before i knew it some of my friends started joining me in my #nobuyjanuary challenge

If you want to join, feel free... it may be difficult, believe im still having withdrawals, but it feels pretty good to know that my bank account is building up again.  If you join, tweet how its going and hashtag #nobuyjanuary.

#NOBUYJANUARY RULES:
1. no buying makeup or clothes, simply buy only essentials - i.e. if you need facial cleanser, you can buy that... but only if you must.
2. you can go to the mall and try on clothes, but you must walk out empty handed. No rules about walking around the mall.
3. you can still get your eyebrows done or any maintenance, because hello... you still want to look good.
4. feel free to go out to eat, just dont do it that often.
5. i think spending gift cards is fine, however i still havent yet... (ill tell you why in a second)

I said you can spend gift cards, because its not your money, however you may want to wait as all the stuff at the malls is just the old stuff/clearance stuff that they are trying to get rid of. SO THINK TWICE before doing so, you may just want to save that gift card that you got for christmas on all the new spring stuff that will be coming out in February!!!

ONLY 17 DAYS AWAY UNTIL I CAN SHOP!!

Hi Beauties

Hi Beauties,

I have become completely obsessed with makeup in these past few years, buying tons of products - drug store, high end makeup, basically anything i can get my hands on. I've always looked for blogs that review products before buying things or just to see what others think.  Ive always loved makeup, I think i started wearing some in grade 7 when i got contacts, but my obsession with makeup was more recent a couple years ago when my friend starting showing me beauty/makeup videos on youtube. Before i knew it, i was beautymakeupobsessed!

I have been talking about putting a blog/youtube channel together for awhile now, but never made the time to do so. I don't have a youtube channel yet, but I'm going to start blogging and see how this goes first. I hope my blog will have good tips and reviews for you girls obsessed with makeup like me!

Here goes nothing...
